YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) —
Eastern Michigan University Head Football Coach Chris Creighton announced today, July 18,  the addition of quarterback Rob Bolden (Orchard Lake, Mich.-Orchard Lake St. Mary's) to the 2014 roster. A transfer from Louisiana State University, Bolden will attend EMU after earning his bachelor's degree in sociology while playing just three seasons combined between LSU and Penn State University.

"We are excited about Rob joining our football family," Creighton said. "We knew he was very talented but we wanted to get to know who he was as a person and potential teammate. It didn't take long to figure out that he is our kind of guy. We are glad he is now an Eagle and that he will finish his career back in Southeast Michigan."

"I am happy to be home with a new start and look to make my final year special," added Bolden. "I appreciate the opportunity that Coach Creighton is giving me and look forward to an exciting season. The support of my family has been tremendous throughout the entire process and I thank them all for that. I look forward to seeing all the fan support for our team at 'The Factory' in August."

A native of Orchard Lake, Mich., Bolden arrived at LSU as a quarterback in 2012 and played that position for two years before moving to wide receiver in the spring of 2014. He redshirted in 2012 and did not see any game action in 2013.

Prior to transferring, Bolden saw action in 20 games, including 15 starts at quarterback in two years at Penn State. He played in 10 games with eight starts as a "true" freshman in 2010 and followed that with nine starts in 2011. The 6-foot-4 Bolden threw for 2,045 yards and seven touchdowns while with the Nittany Lions.

Fans can catch Bolden and the rest of the Eagles kick off the 2014 season at home against Morgan State, Aug. 30, which will be the first game on the new "EMU Gray" FieldTurf inside Rynearson Stadium. Single game and season tickets are now on sale online at EMUEagles.com, by calling 734.487.2282 or by visiting the EMU Ticket Office daily between 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Ticket prices start at just $12 for adults and $5 for youth 12-and-under.
