YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University football team practiced in full pads for the first time during fall practice in advance of the 2013 season. EMU practiced Friday, Aug. 9, for approximately two hours on the grass fields adjacent to the Multi-Purpose Indoor Practice Facility.
While the team was in full pads, the practices were similar to the first four in terms of intensity. Most of the contact was done in individual drills and while working on technique.
Following the morning session Head Coach Ron English chatted with the media for an update on the team's progress following the fifth practice of the fall.
