JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) –
Eastern Michigan University field athlete Donald Scott qualified for the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships Friday afternoon by taking sixth in the NCAA East Preliminary Round.

Scott leapt 58-feet and 8.25-inches, which was good for sixth place at the preliminary round held in Jacksonville, Fla. at the University of North Florida. His jump earned a spot in the field at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships, June 6-9. The championships are held at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

Grzegorz Kalinowski was unable to compete in the 1,500-meter run over the weekend as he developed a stress fracture in his foot. Terefe Ejigu and Joe Tesner are still up for competition this weekend. Ejigu is set to run in the 5,000-meter run at 8:05 p.m., Saturday evening, while Tesner will compete in the pole vault, Saturday at 11 a.m.
