Michael Marsinek and Anthony Dileo will debut with EMU in 2013
TUCSON, Ariz. (EMUEagles.com)— A pair of 2013 Eastern Michigan University baseball recruits will enter their senior year of high school having garnered Louisville Slugger High School Preseason Honorable Mention All-American status. Michael Marsinek, a left-handed pitcher from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and catcher Anthony Dileo from Rockford, Mich. were each selected for the honor.
The players on this list represent not only amazing athletic ability and talent in their respective positions, but also are among the most sought after players by pro scouts and college recruiters.
Many of the players have already committed to a college and most have received national recognition. Others were Players of The Year in their league, region or state and have already racked up a number of awards.
Marsinek is the ace of the Walsh Jesuit High School baseball team, which is one of the top programs in the Midwest. He has a fastball in the upper 80s and a very good repertoire to go with it. Marsinek went 8-0 last season in 13 appearances. In just under 44 innings, he had 58 strikeouts and gave up only seven earned runs for a 1.12 ERA. His performance earned him the team MVP award. In addition, he was named the Cuyahoga River Baseball Conference Pitcher of the Year and was a first-team All-Ohio selection.
DiLeo led Rockford High School to the Division I state title last spring and is receiving an honorable mention for a second straight year. He batted .416 with 35 RBI in one of the toughest conferences in the state. His 2011 accolades also include All-OK Red Conference, All-District, All-Region, and Second Team All-State honors. DiLeo displays great leadership behind the plate, with excellent tools to be a Division I catcher.
