Eagles win 4x400 relay and triple jump

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (EMUEagles.com)— The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team took first place in the 4x400-meter relay and the triple jump at the Silverston Invitational Saturday, Feb. 18. In total, the Eagles placed in the top five in nine events.
The 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Chris Hall, Josh George, Levi Selvig and Fontaine Holland took the top prize with a time of 3:24.29. Aaron Davis used a result of 45-feet 9.25 inches to lead the way in the triple jump, while Anthony Bradley secured second place with a 44-feet 1.50-inches performance.
In the 400-meter dash, Holland posted a second-place time of 50.30 seconds. George and Hall raced to second and third place, respectively, in the 600-meter dash with times of 1:20.96 and 1:21.04.
Moise Frisch claimed third place in the 800-meter dash with a mark of 1:54.37. In the 60-meter hurdles, Selvig needed 8.40 seconds to take third place in the event.
Max Babits started off field events with a vault of 15-feet 11 inches for a fourth place showing. Meanwhile in the long jump, Robert Tarpley checked in at fifth place with a leap of 21-feet 1.50 inches.
Finally in the weight throw, Teron Turner took fifth spot with a toss of 59-feet 5.75-inches.
The Eagles will conclude the indoor season, Feb. 24-25, at the Mid-American Conference Championships in Akron, Ohio.
