— The Eastern Michigan University women's cross country team concluded action at the highly-competitive Inter-Collegiate Bubble Buster today, Sept. 23 in Toledo, Ohio.

The Green and White placed eighth this evening after recording 204 points in a field of several highly-ranked opponents. Arkansas, currently ranked second in the South Central Region, took first place in the event, followed by the No. 19 Ranked West Virgnia squad. San Francisco took third place, while Columbia and No. 29 Toledo finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Baylor raced to the sixth spot, and Ohio State took seventh while the Eagles rounded out the field in eighth place.

Freshman Victoria Voronko (Moscow, Russia-University of Moscow) led the way for the Eagles with her 13:56.9, 3,000-meter time. She hit the first 1,000 meters at the Ottawa Park Golf Course at the 3:30 mark and maintained a 5:37 pace throughout the event to put together a 21st place finish for the Green and White.

Morgan Churchwell (Ada, Mich.-Forest Hills Central) was the next EMU runner to complete the distance with her 30th place finish time of 14:13.5, while Courtney Calka (Livonia, Mich.-Stevenson) took 53rd this evening in 14:37.7.

Rachel Quaintance (White Lake, Mich.-Walled Lake Northern) and Beverly Elcock (Ft. Wayne, Ind.-Northrop) placed 59th and 64th, respectively, while Amber Hutson (Jerome, Mich.-Hanover Horton) and Cassie Coffman (Chelsea, Mich.-Chelsea) also scored points for the Eagles.

EMU will return to action on Oct. 1 when they head to the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky.
