Sprint Relay Team Posts Eagles' Best Finish of the Day

Women wrap up day two of Raleigh Relays
RALIEGH, N.C. (EMUEagles.com) – A third-place finish by the 4x200-meter relay team was the best overall finish by the Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team on the final day of competition at the Raleigh Relays in North Carolina.
The quartet's 1:37.98 time was better than 24 other squads who competed in the event. Eastern's other relay team, the 4x800-meter team, finished sixth in their race.
In the field, Shnell Wishart posted a solid mark in her first-ever collegiate outdoor meet, finishing seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 39-00.50, while her teammate Angela Scarber was ninth in the hammer throw with a toss of 154-05.
Three EMU runners placed in the top 30 in the 1,500-meter run as Lauren Quaintance and Morgan Churchwell were 14th and 15th with times of 4:37.14 and 4:37.28, respectively. Courtney Calka was 26th, finishing in 4:44.16.
The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday, April 2, when it competes in the Toledo Collegiate Challenge in Toledo, Ohio.
