EMU to Host a Viewing Party for Thursday's WNIT Game

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University Athletics Department will be hosting a viewing party for the women's basketball third round “Sweet 16” WNIT match-up against Syracuse University Thursday, March 24, in the food court at the EMU Student Center. The event will coincide with the game's scheduled tip off at 7 p.m.
The feed will be streamed live from the Orange's web broadcast at suathletics.com. Admission to the viewing party will be free and open to all fans. The viewing party will be the only opportunity to view the game for free, as it is not televised and individual subscriptions to view the game are $5.95.
Additionally, the game will be broadcast on WEMU 89.1 FM. Chad Bush and Greg Steiner will have the play-by-play. Live internet audio is available for free on WEMU.org.
In addition, free popcorn will be served inside the Eagle Nation Station which is located next to the food court. The first 50 fans to check-in at the Eagle Nation Station beginning at 6:30 p.m. will also receive a complimentary EMU mini-basketball, and members of the Eagle Nation Rewards Program will have the opportunity to earn bonus points by participating in a pop-a-shot contest.
Fans driving to campus are encouraged to park in the Student Center parking lot off of Oakwood Drive. EMU will validate the $3 parking fee for those who attend the viewing party.
Coming off a 63-54 victory over the University of North Carolina-Wilmington in the second round of the WNIT, March 21, the Eagles enter the Syracuse game with a mark of 24-12 (10-6 Mid-American Conference). Meanwhile, Syracuse sports a 24-9 (9-7 Big East Conference) mark after knocking out St. Bonaventure with a 63-50 victory, March 21.
The winner of Thursday's game will advance to the quarterfinal round to face the University of Toledo. Round four games are scheduled for March 26-28. All WNIT games will be played on campus sites.
