YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University E-Club, a group of former EMU varsity athletic letterwinners, has announced the addition of seven new members into the Athletic Hall of Fame. The Class of 2011 will be honored at a Hall of Fame ceremony Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, in the EMU Student Center on campus.

The Class of 2011 includes:  Howard Booth (men's gymnastics), Ingrid Boyce (women's track), Traci (Parsons) McMullen (women's basketball, women's track), Linda Milholland (softball), Jamie Nieto (men's track), Norm Parker (football) and John Schmidt (football).

This year's class will mark the 36th anniversary of the E-Club Athletic Hall of Fame. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. followed immediately by a buffet luncheon.

Tickets for the Hall of Fame ceremony and luncheon, which also  includes tickets for the men's and women's basketball doubleheaders at the Convocation Center that same day, are $45 each and can be purchased by calling Jessica Nietrzeba at 734.487.0250 or via e-mail at jnietrze@emich.edu.

HOWARD BOOTH 
Men's Gymnastics, Track and Field, Cheerleading:  Lettered in gymnastics from 1963-66, in men's track in 1964 and 1965 and in cheerleading in 1963 and 1964...Was the NAIA and district champion in the still rings three times and placed 11th in that event at the NAIA Championship...Served as gymnastics team captain in 1963 and 1964 and was a co-captain in 1965...Earned four varsity gymnastics letters...Earned two letters for track and placed fourth in the pole vault at the President's Athletic Conference (PAC) meet in 1965...Also served as the co-captain of the cheer team in 1964...Earned a campus leadership award in 1964 for the Men's Union...Went on to become a biology professor at EMU for 42 years...Went on to compete in Masters Track and was the 2009 champion pole vaulter and was ranked second in the world for his age group (65-69)...Won numerous other awards on the Masters level in track.

INGRID BOYCE 
Women's Track:  Top runner and long jumper who earned four letters from 1982-85...Won the long jump title in the MAC Outdoor Championships in 1982, 1983 and 1984 and won the indoor crown in 1982 and 1984, qualifying for the NCAA Championships in 1984...During the indoor track season she ran on the winning 880-yard relay team in 1982, the winning 3 x 400-meter relay team in 1984 and the winning 4 x 400-meter team in 1985...She also won the 300-meter title indoors in 1982, 1984 and 1985, and won the 400-meter run indoors in 1985...In the outdoor seasons she ran on record-setting 4x100-meter teams that won MAC titles in 1982, 1984 and 1985 and individually she was second in the 400-meters in the MAC outdoors in 1982 and 1985.

LINDA MILHOLLAND 
Softball: One of the top pitchers in EMU history...Earned four varsity letters (1988, 1989, 1990, 1991)...Second on the all-time ERA list at 1.21...Third in career strikeouts (310), third in innings pitched (603), and third in career wins (54) and third in complete games (67)...Fourth in career strikeouts (310). and third in career complete game shutouts (17)...Named second-team All-Mid-American Conference in 1990 with a 14-6 record...Finished her EMU career with a 54-36 record, mostly as a  starting pitcher...Named EMU's Most Valuable Pitcher in 1989 and was also selected as the MAC Pitcher of the Week twice during that season...Recorded a 17-10 record as a senior in 1991...Named MAC Pitcher of the Week once in 1988.

TRACI (PARSONS) McMULLEN 
Women's Basketball and Women's Track: Lettered in both basketball and track....Outstanding basketball player (1993-97) who is still ranked third in career scoring (1,454 points), and 15th in career rebounding (551)...Also ranked ninth in three-point field goals made (113)...Led the basketball team in scoring her final three years and started 103 out of 104 games during her career...In basketball she was named second-team All-MAC in 1995-96, was honorable mention All-MAC in 1994-95 and 1996-97 and was named to the All-Freshman Team in 1993-94...In track she was fourth in the heptathlon at the 1994-95 Mid-American Conference Championship and she was third in that event at the 1995-96 meet, setting an EMU varsity record of 4,896 points...Set a varsity record in the pole vault during here competition.

JAMIE  NIETO 
Men's Track: Cleared 7' 6.5” in the high jump, the highest ever by a state of Michigan collegian...Three-time All-America, placing third at the NCAA indoor championships...Nieto won the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2004 with an Olympic Trials record of  7-feet-7.75 inches to qualify for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. He jumped 7' 8” in the Olympics, the same height as the second-place competitor, but finished just out of winning a medal, in fourth place because of misses in the earlier rounds of jumping...Two-time Mid-American Conference indoor champion...Placed fifth in the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials...Placed in the USTFF national meet three times...Also won several Central Collegiate Conference titles and was Most Valuable Performer in the CCC's one time...Still competing on the international scene and is one of the top high jumpers in the U.S.

NORM PARKER 
Football: Earned four football letters and two varsity wrestling letters for EMU from 1960-63...In addition to being a position player in football he also handled the place-kicking duties for the football team...Currently in his 12th year (2009) as an assistant football coach at the University of Iowa (through 2008 season)...Earned his B.S. in special educaiton in 1965 and his M.A. in P.E. in 1967...Started his coaching career at Ypsilanti St. John's H.S. in 1965 and joined the EMU FB staff in 1968 as the linebackers coach...Also coached in the collegiate ranks as an assistant football coach at Wake Forest, Minnesota, Illinois, East Carolina, Michigan state, Vanderbilt and Iowa.  Recommended highly by former coaching assistants Dick Moseley (a Hall of Famer) and Nick Coso...Was a finalist for the National NCAA Frank Broyles Assistant Coach of the Year Award in both 2004 and 2005.

JOHN SCHMIDT 
Football: Earned two varsity letters in 1967 and 1968 as a two-year starting offensivelineman...Played guard in 1967, earning all-Michigan NAIA honors...Was named a first-team College Division All-America center on both the American Football Coaches Association and Kodak College Division teams in 1968...Was named the winner of the Elton J. Rynearson award in 1968 for combining athletic excellence and academic success...Was a team co-captain as a senior...Had a free agent tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs after graduation.
