Budani Selected the MAC's Defensive Player of the Week

EMU senior goalie earned the honor for the first-time in her career
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University senior goalie Monique Budani (Whitby, Ontario-Sinclair Secondary) was named the Mid-American Conference's Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday, Aug. 30. This is the first time that Budani has earned the weekly MAC award in her career.
The Whitby, Ontario native was again sensational in goal, picking up a pair of shutouts on the weekend against Illinois State University, Aug, 26, and Eastern Illinois University, Aug, 29. The shutouts were the 17th and 18th of her career.
Budani has now strung together 224 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal dating back to the 66th minute of the season-opener against the University of Michigan, Aug. 22.
Eastern Michigan closes out its four-match road swing Friday, Sept. 4, against Big Ten Conference foe Michigan State University. Game time is set for 5 p.m. in East Lansing, Mich.
