YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) —
It was another record-setting season in both athletics and academics for Eastern Michigan University student-athletes in 2009-10.

In 2009-10, EMU student-athletes won a trio of Mid-American Conference titles, in men's swimming, indoor track and outdoor track, while finishing as the runners-up in men's golf and women's soccer en route to a third-place finish in the Reese Trophy standings. Additionally, the Eagles captured a combined 30 individual league titles in swimming and track.

For their efforts, 60 EMU student-athletes earned All-MAC honors (35 - first team, 23 - second team, 1 - third team and 1 - honorable mention) in 2009-10. Additionally, the conference office acknowledged EMU student-athletes on 34 different occasions for Player of the Week accolades in 15 of EMU's 21 sports.

Furthermore, 32 student-athletes were singled out for Academic All-MAC honors with four more earning honorable mention accolades. Also, a total of 10 EMU standouts were selected for the prestigious weekly MAC Scholar-Athlete Award, which is given to just one male and one female student-athlete from nominees of all 12 league schools.

In the classroom, three EMU student-athletes earned ESPN/CoSIDA Academic All-District honors to go along with the best overall term GPA in school history at 3.066 for the 2010 winter semester. The previous top term GPA was a 3.059 turned in during the 2005 fall semester.
