YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University Head Baseball Coach Jay Alexander has announced the team will host a pair of camps in August. The Eagles will host the Tigers Camp, Aug. 3-4, at Oestrike Stadium, as well as the Prospect Camp, Aug. 28-29, at Oestrike Stadium.
The second annual Tigers Camp is open for ages seven through high school seniors, as the EMU coaching staff will team up with several current Detroit Tigers, including players Brennan Boesch and Phil Coke and bullpen coach Jeff Jones, to teach fundamental instruction on hitting, pitching, fielding, catching and base running. Stations and drill work for both sessions, concentrating on the fundamental skills of the game. Registration before July 28 is $140 for both days or $80 for one day. Registration after July 28 is $155 for both days or $95 for one day. Both camp days begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m. Click here for the camp brochure and click here to register online.
The second camp the EMU baseball team will host is the Prospect Camp, Aug. 28-29, at Oestrike Stadium. The camp is open to any and all high school players graduating 2011-2014 and costs $150 for both days. Day one of the camp on Saturday, Aug. 28, will begin at 11 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m. with a pro-style workout for all campers involving fielding from various positions. Day two of the camp on Sunday, Aug. 29, will begin at 9 a.m. and each player will be scheduled to play in two live scrimmages with evaluation and instruction from collegiate coaches. College coaches from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and Junior Colleges will be in attendance. Click here for the camp brochure and click here to register online.
