Steve Wilce announces the addition Kaylee Meyers

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University Head Gymnastics Coach Steve Wilce announced late Monday, May 24, another addition to his 2011 team, with gymnast Kaylee Meyers (Riverside, Mo.) signing the National Letter of Intent to compete for the Eagles.

“Kaylee is a exceptionally strong gymnast and we are very excited to have her join our program,” Wilce said. “She competes very well on beam and floor and we expect her to make a big impact as a freshman.”

Meyers, a member of Edge Gymnastics in Riverside under John Laudie and Laura Habel, is a two-time level 10 national qualifier and a four-year level 10 gymnast. This past season, Meyers finished third overall all-around at the Region 4 Championships with a second place finish in the floor exercise and a third place finish on the balance beam. At the Level 10 Championships, Meyers finished 14th all-around, including a sixth place finish on the balance beam.

Meyers is EMU's third addition for the 2011 season, with Miranda Jarvis (Westminster, Md.-Westminster) and Ashley Quinton (Calgary, Alberta-Bishop McNally) signing the NLI this past fall.
