Bowdry, Medlock and Dobbins Earn All-MAC Honors

Bowdry and Medlock named to the second team, Dobbins an honorable mention choice
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Eastern Michigan University redshirt junior Brandon Bowdry (St. Louis, Mo.-Taylor (Mich.) Truman) and senior point guard Carlos Medlock (Detroit, Mich.-Murray Wright) have been named second-team All-Mid-American Conference and senior center Justin Dobbins (Cleveland, Ohio-Glenville) was an honorable mention choice on the 2009-10 teams as selected by the 12 league head coaches. The announcement was made today, March 10, as the final eight teams prepare to participate in the 2010 FirstEnergy MAC Tournament, here at Quicken Loans Arena, March 11-13.
The Eagles are set to play the University of Akron Thursday, March 11, at 2 p.m. in a quarterfinal game. Eastern advanced to the quarterfinal round after recording a 65-59 win over Northern Illinois University, March 7, at home in the first round of the tournament.
For Bowdry it is the second straight season that he has earned second-team All-MAC honors. Bowdry was also a MAC All-Freshman Team member in 2006-07. Medlock was an honorable mention All-MAC selection in 2008-09 before missing the entire 2008-09 season with a broken leg. Medlock was a MAC All-Freshman Team pick in 2005-06. The award for Dobbins is his first.
Bowdry and Medlock are in a virtual tie for the team leadership in scoring, both at 16.1 points a game while Medlock has scored 500 points and Bowdry has totaled 499. The two players are ranked 4-5 in the MAC in scoring while Bowdry tops the league in rebounds at 9.8 per game. Medlock is fourth in the MAC in three-point field goals made (2.26), fifth in assists (3.81) and eighth in steals (1.55). Bowdry tops the MAC in total rebounds (9.8), defensive rebounds (7.13) and is 13th in field-goal percentage (48.8 percent).
Dobbins is 14th in the MAC in scoring at 12.3 points a game and is first in field-goal percentage, making 116-of-187 attempts for 62.0 percent.
During the 2009-10 season, Bowdry and Medlock each won three MAC West Division Player of the Week Awards.
