Gymnastics Sends Moss and Grigg to Regionals in Columbus

Maureen Moss and Erin Grigg will compete at regionals, while Stacie Wood earned a spot as an alternate.

YPSILANTI, Mich. –
Senior Maureen Moss (Gurnee, Ill.-Warren Township) and junior Erin Grigg (North Bay, Ontario-Widdifield) have qualified to compete at the 2009 NCAA Gymnastics Regional at Ohio State University's St. John Arena, April 4, as Moss earned a spot to compete on the balance beam, while Grigg qualified as an all-around performer. Freshman Stacie Wood (Brantford, Ontario-Brantford Collegiate Institute) has been selected as an alternate in the floor exercise.

Grigg goes into the competition with an all-around average of 38.492 this season, ranked 13th in the region, while Moss carded a career-high 9.825 on the beam earlier this season and goes into Columbus ranked 24th in the region in the event.

As a true freshman, Wood tallied a career-best 9.800 in the floor exercise at the Eagle Invitational, March 7, and ranks 46th in the region in the event.
