Redshirt junior forward named MAC West Player of the Week after a stellar performance at Oakland, Nov. 14

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University redshirt junior forward Brandon Bowdry (St. Louis, Mo.-Taylor (Mich.) Truman) has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week for men's basketball, the league office announced Monday, Nov. 16. The award marks Bowdry's first of the season and his third career MAC Player of the Week accolade.

In EMU's season opener at Oakland University, Nov. 14, Bowdry turned in a game-high and tied a career mark with 26 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field and 7-of-11 shooting from the charity stripe. Bowdry also tallied a team-best 13 boards in the victory – EMU's first ever win over OU in the O'Rena in Rochester, Mich. The victory snapped the Golden Grizzlies 14-game home win streak, which was the 11th longest in the nation at the time. Bowdry's 26 points is the most since he tallied 26 in EMU's season opener last season against Marygrove College, Nov. 14.

Bowdry and the EMU men's basketball team is back in action this weekend for the Hispanic College Fund Classic in Springfield, Mo. The Eagles start the tournament against The Citadel Friday, Nov. 20, at 5:30 p.m.
