Christensen Earns Academic All-District IV Third Team Honors

Midfielder Maggie Christensen was named to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District IV Third Team
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan's Maggie Christensen has been named to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District IV third team, the College of Sports Information Directors (CoSIDA) announced Friday, Oct. 30. It's the senior's first such honor.
Christensen, a nursing major with a 3.60 GPA, has three assists to go with one goal this season. Back in 2007, she co-led the team in goals scored with six and totaled 14 points as a sophomore. In 2008, the midfielder suffered an injury and was forced to sit out her entire junior season. After this year, she will still have one full year of eligibility remaining.
The Orland Park, Ill. native has helped lead the Eagles to their third straight Mid-American Conference Tournament appearance in 2009. EMU will host Kent State in first round action Sunday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m.
Christensen is the first Eagle to garner Academic All-District IV honors since Sara Schiffbauer and Lindsay Hill were named to the first and third team, respectively, back in 2007. She is one of six MAC women's soccer athletes to earn District IV honors this year.
