The Eastern Michigan University men’s track and field team tallied 19 point in day one of the 2008 Mid-American Conference Championship Thursday, May 15, here at Whittaker Track on the campus of Bowling Green State University. The Eagles sit tied for second with Central Michigan University. Kent State leads all teams with 40 points.

The Eastern Michigan University women’s track and field team totaled 9 points in day one of the 2008 Mid-American Conference Championship Thursday, May 15, here at Whittaker Track on the campus of Bowling Green State University. EMU sits in sixth place after the conclusion of day one. The University of Akron leads the competition with 59 points, while Ohio University is second with 22 points

Senior Graham Hill shot a one-under par, 70, to help the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team place itself on solid footing in the opening round of the 2008 NCAA Central Regional. The Eagles are in fifth place with a 13-over par 297, seven shots behind Wake Forest, at the regional hosted by Ohio State University at the par 71, 7,455 yard Scarlet Course.

The Eastern Michigan University baseball team moved closer to its second consecutive Mid-American Conference West Division crown with its 6-4 win over Central Michigan here today at Theunissen Stadium. The Eagles remain a game and a half up on second place Northern Illinois and can clinch the West Division with a win tomorrow. Junior Matt Shoemaker threw his second straight complete game win, scattering four runs on seven hits while striking out two Chippewas.

Senior first baseman Ashley Strauss was selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association (NFCA) Great Lakes Region second team, the NFCA announced Wednesday, May 14. With this honor, Strauss is now eligible for All-American consideration by the NFCA.
